Last week, I was invited to attend Vancouver Fashion Week to check out some local and emerging designers at our hip Chinatown. Filled with so much history, culture and just aesthetically beautiful, this part of town has gone through quite the restructuring from when I was a kid. Now it is filled with hipster bars, restaurants, clubs, record stores and has become one of my favourite spots to take pictures for the blog. Since it was fashion week and we are in such a nostalgic location, I wanted to go for something that was unique, fun and super trendy. With spring coming up real soon, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you a few must have pieces for the upcoming season.
You will rarely see me in an athleisure inspired outfit but with the bomber jacket taking centre stage this spring, I couldn't help but take notice. I have never owned a bomber jacket before but when I saw this blush pink bomber jacket embroidered with beautiful floral details I instantly became a fan. I love that it is girly with a sporty feel that I can dress up or down with. For this particular look, I paired this pretty bomber with a raw-hemline jean which I saw a lot outside NYFW. They are also in a high-waist silhouette which is heavenly because it elongates my stature by giving me a smaller waist, longer legs and reads a little seventies.
This look is all about detail, detail and more detail with a pop of red on my hat and shoes. Even though we can see spring, the weather is still very cold so I entrusted my Parisian beret to keep warm and matched it with these pretty ruby embellished sandals. If there is one pair of shoe you need to be on trend for spring then Mules are the way to go. All over the runway and streets, fashionista's have been sporting this style endlessly and I was excited to get on that bandwagon. I also wore my new gold choker by Eddit Borgo which added that perfect extra something to the attire. When you attend these types of events, don't be afraid to experiment because fashion week dressing allows you to be creative, bold and live out your alter ego.
I hope you have enjoyed my outfit and will try out some of these upcoming trends for spring!
