The falling leaves are indeed a beautiful sight, but it also signals that winter is coming soon! The cooler weather means harsher conditions on your baby’s delicate skin. With that in mind, I have already begun transitioning my baby’s skincare from fall to winter with the  AVEENO® Baby® Eczema Care Line .

Formulated with  soothing natural Colloidal Oatmeal and dimethicone, the   AVEENO® Baby® Eczema Care line helps  to  temporarily protect and relieve minor skin irritation and itching  associated with eczema.   I love how the line can be used to help retain baby’s supple skin during the wintertime.   There  are three products I am currently using on Adelina from this line,  and I found that these products work very well for the fall temperature.

When it’s bath time, instead of using the  AVEENO®Baby®  Wash & Shampoo,  which we have been using on her since she was a newborn, I decided to switch to the   AVEENO® Baby® Eczema Care Wash.   Unlike the Wash and Shampoo, where it has a clear gel consistency, this wash has a richer, more opaque consistency that  still lathers nicely for a gentle wash.  This tear-free wash is clinically proven to  cleanse your baby’s delicate, eczema-prone skin without over-drying and helps to  clean  and soothe their skin all at once.

Once she is out of the bath, we only half-dry her (leave her skin damp) and apply the   AVEENO® Baby® Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream. Leaving your baby’s skin damp helps with locking in more moisture, so I highly recommend you don't miss this important step! Another great tip I found is to not over-soak your baby, meaning shortening their bath time. I also never use a wash cloth or sponge because their skin is so fragile that any rubbing can contribute to irritation. Instead I use a small water bucket I got from a baby store to rinse her thoroughly with lukewarm water.

If your baby is experiencing  more severe dryness and eczema, I suggest you try the   AVEENO® Baby® Eczema Care Nighttime Balm, which is also formulated to help baby sleep.   Almost like petroleum jelly, the Nighttime Balm is also great for the face, especially around the mouth where baby can experience a lot of drooling from teething and sucking their fingers. Adelina sometimes has a lot of redness around the mouth area from saliva, so this product really protects that sensitive area.   I find that the Nighttime Balm would be perfect for the coldest winter months, so right now I'm just applying it here and there  on top of the moisturizing cream, which I use all over her body.

Thanks so much for reading,  and  I hope this will help you keep your baby’s skin safe this winter season!
