Welcome to December! With the season of celebration in full swing, I will be dedicating the entire month to the holidays. Everything from party dressing to gift guiding ideas, I will be showing you tips and tricks on how to combat and ease your festive anxiety. As your invites pile up, get ready here with me and celebrate your holiday with style. To start off, lets create an easy glamourous look inspired by the starlets of old Hollywood such as Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe and modern day Reese Witherspoon . Perfect for an office party, this look will aptly surround you with the right attention and let you sparkle brightly through the night. Whether it is your own holiday office party or for your significant other, pulling off a professional yet festive look can be tricky (1). One thing I recommend is to not go the 'sexy' route because you should still remain appropriate even though it is technically an after-hour matter. Instead, I always suggest a classic look with a modern chic twist for holiday party dressing. To add instant old Hollywood glam I incorporated a fur stole in a chocolate brown hue against an eggplant sweater over a nude dress. I love a good LND (little nude dress) because you can wear it on its own during the summer for weddings or special occasions and then pull a knit or jacket over and you got a whole new creation for winter. To show your trendsetter side and to give definition to your waist, I tried a unique strategy by twisting two different coloured skinny belts together. The result, a sophisticated, glossy modern take on the classic film star look that will smoothly help get from desk-to-party (2) ready in no time! Of course no holiday wear is complete without sparkly accents! I adore a bedazzled outfit but sometimes there is a fine line between being fashionable and looking like a bad disco ball. To elude such a situation, try to just add touches of sequins, rhinestones and glitter details instead. For example, since I integrated this lovely gold sequin statement pouch I needed to balance the rest of the outfit with just a tiny amount of rhinestone on my gorgeous nude heels. Comfortable for a night of dancing and walking, these heels are a perfect height and color to elongate the legs. Since this look is all about the retro curls, I also wanted to decorate my hair with a pearl rose gold hair clip my hairdresser gave me. To complete this ultra alluring old Hollywood inspired party attire, I finished off with my beautiful cherished rose gold pave earrings, ring and bracelet. Now, is really the best time to bring out your best party jewelry and display it in its full glory. Thank so much for reading and joining me on my first holiday series. I hope you will continue to enjoy all the looks I have in store for you. Until next time stay glam and holiday ready- xoxo Spirit!
