I really love a classic smokey eye that is bold but not over-the-top.  Like a red lip, the smokey eye just elevates a look and adds major glamour points.  I am always in search of a great eye shadow palette and if you are like me, you would love the Urban Decay Vices Palette available for 500 perk points at Sephora.  While the box claims that it is an exclusive set of their coveted Vice palettes, I see it as a travel size of the Urban Decay Naked Smokey.  This little sample kit is packed with smokey goodness and features three of Urban Decays' most popular items.  So run to Sephora now before this gift is gone and try out a velvety statement eye to end the year in a smoking hot way.

For December, I have been wearing the smokey eye non-stop but I use to dislike this makeup trend because if not done right you can look like you have a black eye which isn't so hot.  In spite of this and with trial and error over time, I felt as if I have finally mastered a smokey look that fits me correctly.  Like fashion, it is all about playing with proportions and tailoring it to make it right for you instead of the other way around.

Get the Look: Old Hollywood Glamour

  1. To achieve my Hollywood glamour look, I prepped my lids using the single-use sample of the original primer potion (which you have to lift the box to find).
  2. Once done, I used a fluffy eyeshadow brush and dusted Dope all over my lid to brow bone.
  3. Then I used the darkest shade Smokeout and smudged it near my upper eye lid and went over Smokeout with the next darkest shade Derailed and repeated that halfway on my crease
  4. For natural depth on my crease I used the bronzer from Urban Decay's Naked Flush  and tapped with my fingers All Over Base from Lancome Petal Pusher palette on the centre of my lids, the corner of my eyes and my halfway on my lower eyelid to capture light.
  5. For eyeliner, I used I Bobbi Brown gel liner in Caviar Ink for the top eye lid and used the travel size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Smokeout (included in set) for the bottom lid.
  6. To finish, I went with a nude peachy glossy lip by using Lancome Juicy Tube in Rasperberry Ice on top of MAC Mineralize lipstick in Elegant Accent.
