Welcome to January! I hope you all had a wonderful NYE, drank lots of champagne and wore a fantastic dress to ring in the new year with style. Today I want to share with you something a little different but special. As I stood in front of this mirrored piece of artwork by Lee Bul at the Vancouver Art Gallery, I began to reflect upon the year and myself. When December came to a close, I realized it was just six months ago that I had the courage to start this journey. So please join me as I reflect upon my experience as a new blogger, some of the challenges that I have faced and my hopes, resolutions and dreams for 2016. Before I begin, I want to just say a heartfelt THANK YOU for taking precious time out of your life to read, comment, retweet and like my postings. I especially need to thank my friends, family and husband whom I am always & eternally grateful for :) Challenges:At the beginning of this year, I promised myself that I would follow my heart and be fearless and glamouraspirit was born in July. Many factors before have discouraged me to start but for some reason this year, I knew in my heart that it was the right time. The biggest challenge that I have faced as a new emerging blogger is the fact that people just don't follow you like that. It takes a lot of work to grow your followers and at times you will feel helpless and alone. I admit I was naive about how it all worked when I first started, but now I know that in reality it takes time and perseverance like anything else. Another challenge that I constantly face is shooting outdoors and dealing with the weather, especially now during the winter time where it is cold and we have little to no lighting in Vancouver. Sometimes I find it difficult to continue but my husband and my love of styling pushes me forward every time. And lastly, the one that is the easiest to control but the hardest to do is to stay on topic. Whether it is fashion, beauty, hair, travel etc... pick one topic and do not deviate too much from that or else you will confuse your readers by being all over the place. Once you establish a good following then blog about other things in life you also love. In my blog, everything revolves around fashion and the sub-categories are there only to enhance the outfit experience. Resolutions & DreamsWith a new year, I usually don't make too many resolutions just because people don't really keep them. However, I decided to make some very realistic ones that are easier to achieve and push myself to do this year. 1. Visit the eye doctor, dentist and have regular health checkups 2. Go to the gym at least once a week once the weather gets warmer 3. Meeting new people and opening myself to different people in my life 4. Travel to Europe 5. Read more books 5. Create better and more creative content With time and perseverance I hope that I will continue to bring better outfits and content to all of you. But most importantly, I wish I can achieve more milestones in blogging and my personal life. I am excited to enter new and exciting chapters that awaits me and hopefully you are too. Whether it is failure or success, I will live happier knowing that I gave it my all, tried my best and pursed my dreams. So here, I hope that this post will not only inspire you to reflect but also to not be afraid to try new things and pursue what you have always wanted. - Xoxo-Spirit
