At an early age, I understood the power of accessorizing and how it can change your entire outfit and mood easily. According to Marissa Webb, accessories are like "icing on the cake" (1) where it allows you to be daring and have fun. For example, we can think of our clothes as a blank canvas until we incorporate accessories to really make the ensemble our own. I find that what defines my style is the way I play with accessories, colours, textures and patterns and it is the combination of all those factors that makes it very personal and unique to me. Still fully inspired by the Parisian runways, I want to rework this orange rusty poncho and show you my tricks and tips on how to accessorize.
In the fall, I styled this vibrant poncho for an easy weekend look where I wore it in its original open-faced form that exposed my sleek delicate layers underneath; however, today, I wanted to play it up and elevate the ensemble worthy for a street style snap in Fashion Week. Style Tip: To achieve such a look, I employed all the necessary accessorizing tools to rework this wardrobe staple. Underneath I wore my navy blue turtleneck and denim dress from my beret post because I thought it would go perfectly with the orange. To give some definition to a loose shape knit such as the poncho, I utilize a great belt that was slightly wider for a more dramatic statement. For some edge and sex appeal, I continued with black and wore my suede thigh high boots and sailor cap. Finally, for some fun and unexpected glamour, I added my new leopard clutch which paired nicely with the rustic orange.
With a fashion blog, I am in constant need of new outfit ideas to showcase all the time which is very costly if it's not borrowed or being sent to you. So, instead of investing in expensive clothes, I believe in spending on quality accessories to update my looks quickly and creatively. My favourite accessory to splurge on has always been a good handbag, especially a great clutch! I have been eyeing this Demanta style for seriously a long time because I keep thinking it would go out of style. But I promised myself if it stays around long enough I would get it; and nearly ten years later, I finally purchased this Mcqueen Clutch in a dream leopard print that will never go out of style. An added bonus, the clutch is also in a large size that lets you fit a good chunk of your life in and allows you the option of using it for daytime or a special evening occasion. So I urge you, if you are looking for a quality and useful clutch for the new year, try out a beautiful Demanta clutch By Mcqueen because you will not be disappointed.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have gained some useful tips on how to reinvent your outfit with accessories. Until next time stay glam and chic!
