The past weekend was a holiday here in B.C and there was plenty of activities to keep us Vancouverites very busy. Every year in the beginning of August Vancouver tends to come alive with fireworks, ample sun and the annual pride parade. We did however end up missing the actual parade (sadness) and our Prime Minister Justin Truedeau, but walked up to Davie to experience the after party anyways. Still electric, the streets were filled with people danciing and celebrating. From the rainbow colours, music and friendly loving faces I was so proud to see a community and group of people come together. Inspired by the LOVE, energy and beauty of the LGBTQ, I wanted to honour their voices and pride with this off-the-shoulder number
Another great piece from Shein, this playful top reminded me of the cool hippie era with its crochet detail, ruffled sleeves and off-the-shoulder style. Perfect for the celebration, I paired this boho inspired blouse with some simple cuffed denim shorts for a casual yet fun attire to enjoy all the festivities.
Since the top is so loud, I wanted to off set that with some simple accessories I got recently from my new favourite store- Oak & Fort. I actually just discovered this local company after brunching with my girls and I found that their prices were very reasonable with great quality and they also have some amazing jewelry. I instantly fell in love with this thin fabric choker which suited my neck line and it was only $18 dollars. Since this trend will probably fade by the fall, I don't feel as if I need to invest too much money into it. After brunch, me and my girlfriend also stopped by Nordstrom to check out their annual anniversary sale. Unfortunately there was nothing on sale we liked but I did end up picking up two espadrilles by Soludos. This sandal called the Raffia is especially great for walking and the design matched perfectly with the free-spiritedness of the top.
Since the weather is so wonderful this time of the year in Vancouver, I encourage you to get out with your families and friends to enjoy all wonderful activities happening around the city.
Thanks for reading & Happy Pride! Sending my love your way:)
