March has been a month of being sick, wisdom teeth extraction, events and celebrations which certainly kept me very busy. It was also the month where cherry blossoms were in full bloom and I want to share with you yet another outfit underneath this canopy of delicate pink perfection. As I flip through magazines for my daily outfit inspiration, I was excited to see the return of the colour RUST. Seemingly difficult to wear at first, Rust brings a certain charm that will inevitably become one of your favourite ways to revamp your wardrobe with for spring 2016.
Before I even thought that Rust would be one of the it colours of the season, I gravitated towards purchasing this blazer during the holidays. With its oversized nature and vibrancy, it surprisingly paired well with a lot of other colours, especially emerald green and indigo blue (1). Unknowingly, this clash of colours created a sophisticated palette with a whiff of 70's cool (2) which popped nicely against the cloud of pink in the background. To keep the look interesting, I incorporated this little lace crop top and these dark culottes from fall to bring a unique flavor to the fiery rustic orange. The result? An elegant, sexy and impossibly chic ensemble that would be great for a girls night out or an after work cocktail hour.
Pairing accessories is made easy with rust because it is a neutral colour that works well with other shades. Since this is a fancier look, I incorporated a pair of perfectly embellished pump that blended nicely with the confetti of plum petals on the floor. I also matched the rust with my go-to leopard over-sized clutch in preparation for a fun night out.
I hope you can look forward to April with this colourful look!
