Usually we are met with more rain than this during April; but thankfully, it has been turning into quite a gorgeous and refreshing month. With almost summer-like weather, flowers like cherry blossoms and now tulips are in full bloom. With the cooperation of the weather, I was able to fully enjoy this magnificent backdrop of rainbow colours and showcase to you a great outfit for visiting your local Tulip Festival.
With such a beautiful and busy setting, I wanted my outfit to have a simple palette for a quiet contrast. I usually see people wear the typical white or bright colours but I think a navy combo can be quite lovely as well. Navy and even black is quite suited for these types of shots and locations because it doesn't really compete with any of the colours. Instead, Its muted nature complements and highlights you in the best way possible and not to mention slimming!.
Dressing for flower fields can be tricky because you want to look stunning in pictures and be comfortable at the same time. Hence, I was really excited when I found this tasseled top at H&M and knew instantly it was right for the occasion. With its lightweight chiffon fabric and embroidery, this top is practical yet romantic. Its understated bohemian aesthetic paired nicely with distressed skinny jeans that reflected a laid-back feel. For comfort, I went with a pair of black suede tasseled booties with a round heel also from H&M, so I can still have some height and walk around easily. Since it was super sunny, I would highly recommend a hat and some high SPF so you won't burn. For my accessories, I went with tassels and fringe details to match my top and boots.
I really love this look and I hope you can try it to visit the tulips before they are gone.
