At any given time or day, Navy is one of my favourite go to colours. Whenever I wear this shade, I know that I would feel elegant, sophisticated, sexy and smart even with minimal planning. Less severe than black, navy is made suitable for every skin tone and can cater to any taste(1). Always in fashion, I never fear that navy will clash or not match with any of my pieces. Now, I argue would be the perfect time to bring out your favorite navy item for an anniversary dinner or even a little shopping after work. Whatever the occasion, navy will surely satisfy all your outfit needs hence becoming the new black this season.
To celebrate the opening of Nordstrom in Vancouver, I decided to to wear my beloved cocoon navy coat for a impromptu shopping spree. Since its a little chilly lately, this coat is functional enough to accommodate any sudden weather changes. I love a great cocoon style sweater or coat because you can do so much with it. You can wear it as it is or add a studded black leather belt to make it super stylish and chic for a night time soiree. Underneath I wore a longer style pleated LBD, so that the bottom sheer part just barely peaks out of the coat. This way, the outfit is mysterious, polished and exudes a lady-like luxe great for a fancy dinner downtown to commemorate those milestone events.
To make this outfit truly unique and different, I added some amazing accessories to complement the beautiful navy blue. I couldn't wait to wear this pretty chain trimmed panama hat because it matched so well with my rose gold clutch, earrings and pave ring. I also splurged on this classy but edgy Valentino leather bracelet because I know I will be wearing it perpetually with everything. I am not usually one to wear leather cuffs or bracelets because I never thought it suited me, until I saw this gorgeous piece. I admit that I was once a victim to monograms when I was younger. However, if done the right way, wearing a logo can be equally fashionable and understated and not at all too showy.
Thanks for reading and I hope that you will incorporate a little something navy into your wardrobe this season! Again don't forget to follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for additional updates and shop this look on Befitted.com. Until next time, stay chic and glam - xoxo Spirit.
