Starting this week, I am excited to share with you my outfits and travel pictures from my recent trip to Osoyoos (Pronounced: "O-sue-use"). A charming small town located in the Okanagan valley of B.C, Osoyoos is home to the only desert and warmest fresh water lake in Canada (1). Similar to California's Napa Valley and the Bordeaux region of France, it boasts impressive vineyards, picturesque landscapes and lots of sunshine. More than just blue skies and wineries set against gentle sloping hills (2), this is a place I love to get away, relax and visit during the summer months. With a beautiful backdrop, a mecca for wine lovers (3) and ample sun- you will need to see for yourself why its aptly named "Canada's desert wine country".
Ironically, our first day there was met with lots of rain which is an unlikely occurrence in the region. However, it did set the mood right for me to showcase to you this outfit which is great for traveling during a long road trip. I think for most people being comfortable is the key to their traveling attire but as a fashion blogger, you never know when you will pass a stunning location perfect for a mini photo shoot. And that is why I always like to bring with me a leather jacket which serves as a stylish yet practical piece. I also like this breezy tunic which is light and loose so I can sit for hours without feeling constricted. Distress denims are my favorite right now and they are also super comfortable, especially the relaxed boyfriend style which makes a wonderful traveling denim. Super easy and chic, this leather and fringe number will prepare you for any weather and those spontaneous picture-worthy moments on your drive ahead.
I always like to bring with me a hat when I travel because it shields the sun, rain and helps me look more stylish when I'm feeling sluggish and having a dirty hair day. Sometimes a hat is all you need to update your outfit to desert chic. Since this outfit has a slight Coachella feel, I incorporated this mini long fringe split suede cross-body bag which makes this look more fun and desert appropriate. I also love these H&M booties that aren't the best qualities but they are super comfortable to walk in even on soil, uneven roads and rugged terrains which is surprising for a heel. I also love the tassel detail which matches nicely with the fringe on the bag. Overall I think this outfit is easy to wear and photographs well which makes your wine country experience that much better.
For my next post, I will be showcasing this beautiful villa at Hester Creek Winery where we stayed and took these photos from our walk to dinner.
