I can't believe I am here writing about my 1 year anniversary in blogging already- time sure flies when you aren't watching. I remember 1 year ago, I had a spontaneous moment after a friends wedding and knew that this was what I wanted to do all along. Now here I am, 1 year later holding some balloons and wearing a gold tuxedo jacket celebrating this milestone.
I actually ordered this jacket back in December for my holiday special but unfortunately, I didn't find the right bottom to go with this statement blazer until these distress boyfriend jeans came into my life. I have been wearing them a lot for my recent trips and they make just the perfect accompaniment for my weekend attire. One probably wouldn't think that these ripped jeans would work with such a structured jacket, especially gold lamé; but in truth, I think such a powerful piece requires something more casual or laid back in order for it to shine brightly. Hence, I think that this combo of lamé and denim is the perfect way to spend a special occasion or even to the office.
For accessories, I wanted them to be just as special as this day so I incorporated some of my favourite pieces that I have acquired through the months. First is this gold choker necklace by Eddie Borgo from the Outnet which was such a great find and at a fraction of a regular Borgo item. I also have been obsessed with this moon clutch from Mansur Gavriel because it's reasonably priced for a bag that brings so much use and so easy to match with everything. It is so funny because in my very first blog post I wore the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and now I carry the clutch. I truly love this brand and hopefully continue to do so in the future. Lastly, these Schutz Juliana snake skin sandals were were purchased last minute before an opening and it turned out to be one of my best purchase. I think the natural skin of the snake almost makes it a nude shoe, so it helps give your outfit an edge while staying elegant and classy too.
I remember I took my very first OOTD photo on the streets of Yaletown much like this one - a sunny July afternoon. Filled with curiosity and excitement, we had no idea what it would be like or what new beginnings it would bring. In the start, I was slightly discouraged with only 30 followers and had very few likes for the first month. However now, I find that my blog has made some great improvements and I am very very very slowly seeing the fruit of our labour. Back in December, I made some goals on blogging and realized that what I truly want to achieve is to enjoy the process and continue to be inspired by what I loved most since a child- Fashion. As a little girl, I was glued to the T.V when Fashion Television came on and I was mesmerized by magazines and beautiful visuals they presented. Now 30 years later (yes 30) I am here at this moment living my dream.
What I hope for in the future?
That you will continue to join me for many more glamourous blogging years to come!
