With my final installment with Coach, I wanted to display what this 75-year-old brand is known for, a “true blue all-American vibe” (1). And nothing says all-American like baseball and the varsity jacket. So today’s look not only relay back to the origin of Coach’s baseball glove connection but also to my love of sportswear.
For many years, Coach was known as a classic brand that catered to the more sophisticated crowd and still does. However for this pre-fall season, Stuart Vevers introduced the baseball jacket as a core trend in his runway collection and has proven to be a big hit. By referencing core American cinematic masterpieces, like A League of your own (with Madonna) Vevers, an Englishman was able to show an understanding and appreciation of this important and great American tradition(2). With muses like Chloe Moretz Grace and Emma Roberts, Coach has moreover bagged successfully unlikely customers (3) - a generation that look up to young Hollywood.
You don’t see me in something very casual or sporty often; but in truth, I really appreciate and adore a comfy sneaker, a cool bomber jacket and even a baseball cap for those low key days when I’m not blogging. Sportswear now is both chic and practical and it has really resonated well with the public and also with me. With the colder weather, I adore an over-sized varsity jacket in Navy to wrap myself with and stay relax and cozy while I sip hot chocolate, run errands or browse the stores for the latest trends. If I can, I would be in baggie clothes all the time but since I am so petite it often swallows me and makes me seem smaller. So pairing this knitted long dress underneath gives me major curves and allows me to feel sexy while being appropriate. So no matter how long the day is, I continue to feel confident and my spirit is uplifted. Of course this look isn’t complete without talking about how well it matches my white Rogue bag. I have created many looks already, each one different but they all work because it’s a well crafted bag with subtle details that complements any style. One fashion advice I always give is to invest in a quality bag that can carry you through the seasons but also for years to come down the road.
I hope you have enjoyed my series with this lovely Rogue bag and it really is a dream bag which everyone can own and cherish.
Thanks so much for joining me and thanks to Coach for partnering up with me on this series:)
