With the launch of the coveted Apple Watch, Wearable Technology (1) was instantly put on centre stage. A relatively new concept, I too was not super sold on the idea at first until I discovered MEZZI, a Vancouver based company that created smart and luxurious handbags with functional and innovative designs. As a handbag enthusiast, I was always able to find well-designed and quality bags but they often lacked the ability to seamlessly integrate all of my technological needs. Driven by that same concern, MEZZI created stylish yet practical bags that were compatible with our beloved technologies. A concept that so few have noticed, I thought MEZZI was really ahead of its time and grew curious so I decided to purchase their Vedova Bucket bag over the holidays to see what this was all about. So, I am excited to share with you my new discovery and hopefully encourage you to buy smart the next time you are looking for a brand new handbag.
I am a firm believer that a great quality handbag can enhance your life and that is exactly why I chose MEZZI. With pebbled Italian leather and a luxurious suede interior, their bags are well deserved to be branded luxury. Also considered smart, their bags come with a powerful phone charger and a tracker that alerts you if you are separated from your bag. Out of all their pretty bags, I decided on the Vedova because I was looking for another bucket style and colour to add to my handbag collection. Designed with wide lined pockets that protects and fits your iPad, iPhone and even a small laptop, quality gold zippers that wont break if you zip too fast or and sturdy handles and straps that makes me feel secure when I am carrying too much - this bucket beauty is a dream. Another added bonus is the great gold hardware with matching gold foot studs to keep your bag clean on the floor. Almost perfect, I wish that their bags came with a dust bag so I can store it properly and straps with more adjustable options for girls like me that are challenged in the height department. Overall, this bag is fantastic as it keeps me organized and helps me find my phone quickly and efficiently without trouble or fuss.
To compliment this magnificent and very dependable bag, I needed an equally smart and chic ensemble that I can wear to a casual work day or to brunch on the weekends. To capitalize on the sun on this chilly winter day, I was able to escape wearing a thick coat and opted for my check boyfriend blazer, denim flares, a thin turtleneck and a matching fur stole in chocolate brown to keep warm. Unlike my previous post where I carried the bag via the long straps, this time for a more sophisticated approach, I used the handle instead to achieve another look with a slight retro edge. Since this look is more vintage, I also wore these cool Rayban Clubmasters which I stole from my dad, my favourite Valentino wrap leather bracelet and ankle suede booties in the same caramel colour as my MEZZI Vedova bucket bag.
Passed the ugly duckling phase, wearable tech is now blessed with both beauty and functionality (2). I hope 2016 will be the year you embrace the idea that fashion can be merged with technology and start to love it as much as I do.
Thanks so much for reading and until next time stay chic, glam and smart!
* I also want to mention that when my bag came, my Lepow charger didn't work but MEZZI quickly responded and send me a new working one within days :)
