The first bag that I have ever received from a boy (and now husband) was a monogrammed shoulder purse with a matching wallet by Coach. Now years later, I got an opportunity to revisit my first love - where my adoration of purses started and I couldn’t be more honored or privileged. I am super excited to announce that I will be partnering up with Coach this season featuring one their covetedRogue bag with looks and outfits that best display the past and present of the this “American luxury” house (1).
As an ardent purse lover and addict, I am always in search of a new bag to carry me through the seasons. With fall and soon to be winter, people usually gravitate towards darker hues that best express the scenery, foliage and mood. But a white bag unexpectedly isn’t just for the summer and can add freshness to the usual autumnal attire. Gone are the monogrammed logos of the past and now we are met with a pared down exterior(2) refined, simple and elegant. What I love about this bag, other than its refreshing color, is the functionality of this tote style. With a roomy, well organized interior and inside pocket (3), it also boast two outer compartments perfect to store your agenda, books or even a mini iPad. The top handles in purple leather also add a nice contrast against the crispy white, while the removable shoulders straps allow you to carry the bag in multiple ways. Lined with luxurious suede and crafted in pebbled glovetanned leather, this material was used commonly in baseball mitts and pays homage to the sportswear heritage of this great American brand (4).
Since I was inspired by the rich history of Coach, I wanted to create a look that had a retro feel with a boy-meets-girl undertone. To achieve this, I incorporated my trusted grey blazer with a trendy embroidered collared shirt underneath, some flare jeans and a grey neck scarf to finish off this menswear inspired look. For a little fall color, I wore some comfortable tan booties that complemented well the purple of the handles. Somewhat old school yet contemporary, this look is fairly straightforward, no fuss and perfect for the busy modern working women. Now you can see that white bags aren’t just for the summer and you effortlessly capture that clean sophistication well into fall (5).
