While the start of January signals different things for different people, it is definitely a time where most TRY to make resolutions and yearn for a fresh start and new beginnings. If you have read my reflection post, one of my top priority this year is to take better care of my health, especially my eyes. In need of a new prescription and glasses, polette a great affordable and quality eye wear company contacted me and I instantly fell in love with their retro and trendy styles. Taking out the middle man, polette is able to send the frames straight from the factory to the customers making their glasses and price points very accessible. So this year, I am going to kickoff 2016 right by looking into the new with polette!
I dreaded wearing glasses as a kid and forgo them in high school because they weren't stylish. Given more options now that better suited individual taste, face shapes and lifestyle, my affection for glasses grew as an adult. Like a great piece of jewelry, a pair of chic glasses is now both a practical and stylish accessory that not only frames your face but shows off your fashionista side. My favourite style of the moment is a great cat-eye shape with a tortoise shell, like the Voltaire by polette. With its classic pattern and modern shape, this frame easily satisfied all of my geek chic needs. Part of their L'ATELIER line exclusively made out of acetate and hand polished to perfection, the Voltaire with its French origin will have everyone saying oh-la-la!
To match my sophisticated and trendy glasses, I needed an equally chic outfit so I incorporated many new items I got over the holidays, like this grey herringbone blazer. Similar to searching for the perfect cat-eye glasses, I am always on the hunt for a great blazer that can carry me from day to night. So incredibly versatile, this jacket paired perfectly with my distress skinny denim and new fringe booties. If you want a dressier feel, you can add a bejeweled appliqué collared tee like I did with matching earrings to bring this look into the night or just a plain tee for a more casual setting. Finally to give this outfit an extra punch, I added my most treasured find over the holidays which is this beautiful pony hair leopard clutch by Alexander McQueen.
Whether it is girls night or a just a casual day in the park where you can read a book and enjoy the outdoors, this look will surely start your year off with your best foot forward. Thank you for reading and until next time stay glam and chic!
*I want to thank polette eyewear for partnering up with me on this new year resolution post and do check out their designer frames from $6.99 and anti-scratch and anti-reflective lenses from $9.99. Please note that their glasses due to their hand polish nature will take some time to deliver and of course prescription is extra!
