With cold and dreary November upon us, all I want is to do is sit by a fire, drink some hot coca and watch Netflix all day. And while binge-watching on Stranger Things, I've noticed Nancy Wheelers amazing shearling jackets (1) and it has gotten me inspired to create a cozy autumn look featuring this marvelous Rogue bag by Coach.
Since winter is quickly approaching, I am a huge fan of shearling because this rugged yet humble sheepskin material is versatile, warm and timeless to say the least (2). When Stuart Vevers became creative director of Coach and introduce ready to wear, he gave Coach a modern makeover with wonderful shearling coats and vests. So whenever I see Coach, I think of not only great bags like the Rogue but also quality outerwear that I can treasure and wear for a lifetime.
To capture that retro mood again with that Almost Famous feel, I mixed a fitted tanned shearling jacket to pare down the volume of this elegant maroon swing dress. For some rich fall hues, I added a burgundy fedora and some brown motorcycle boots to help retain an edge instilled by this tough statement coat. The tan of the jacket also matches brilliantly with the outer compartments of the bag, thus bringing the look together. Whether you are visiting your nearest Christmas market, drinking your favourite pumpkin latte or channeling your inner Nancy (3), come this season you are ready to brave the winter cold in stylish, chic and cozy manners.
