Another installment from my trip, this time we head to a unique desert environment where you can see gophers snakes, killdeer birds and the occasional cottontail rabbit if you are lucky. The Desert Centre is a 67 acre nature interpretive facility dedicated to preserving and protecting the fragile desert ecology in the South Okanagan. Guests are invited to explore Canada’s "pocket desert" by taking a tour along the wooden boardwalk. Located along Olivier, the centre is super convenient but hard to visit since they close early- so make sure to check the hours before you go!
With only blue skies and not a single cloud in sight, the desert centre was the perfect location to show off my shoulders once again in this denim-like ruffled dress. I would say this is the quintessential summer dress since anything off-the-shoulder is a MUST this season. Greeted with a pleasant breeze to shield us from the heavy desert sun, the wind showcased the ruffle details vividly in all its dream-like glory.
To make this dress more lively, I accessorized with this western inspired red bandana and added a luxe bag for some contrast to the casualness of the dress. Surprisingly, these H&M booties also went well with the dress and allowed me to walk the entire way without a hitch. Nothing says summer cool quite like a pair of quality aviator glasses, so these pair of mirrored D&G certainly fit the bill. Not only for meant exploring nature, you can also wear some fun wedges and a hat to make it more city-worthy or transition it for the night with some designer pumps and a light leather jacket.
Overlooking the beautiful Osoyoos lake and cascading vineyards in the North, I was really able to take a moment and admire all the beauty and cross yet another item from my travel bucket list.
Thanks for joining me!
