Today's look is all about playing with proportions and colors. Since the seventies is so on trend these past two seasons, this tan colored cropped jacket is a perfect balance to the long flare jeans.
For this look, I wanted to be both sophisticated and trendy so I paired my vertical stripe top and flare jeans with the cropped jacket. The reason why I chose this crop jacket in particular is because the tan color fits with everything and almost every skin tone. Nude is always a great color to invest in your wardrobe because it is so flattering. I also love this trick of not putting my arms in sleeves to give the outfit a street style cred. It really brings the look into another level if you do that.
Since my entire outfit is pretty much a subtle throwback I chose to not overdue it with the accessories. Instead, I opted for a statement Art Deco necklace that is modern with a vintage feel. I also love this leather fringe clutch from H&M because even though it is very seventies and bohemian, to me it has a chic modern aesthetics. It could be the black leather or the fact that it is a clutch. There is a strap that comes with it, however, I chose never to wear it as a shoulder bag. I always just carry it in my hands or clutch it in my arms. I also love the long fringes on the bag because it creates some much needed dimension on an otherwise simple clutch. Finally, to pull the entire look together I added my favorite nude pumps to go with the nude palette of the coat. I also wore my hair in a simple fish-tail braid for added elegance.
Thanks for reading and I hope you gain some fashion wisdom about how to incorporate a cropped jacket into the seventies.
