The River Rock Casino Resort was our very first staycation since we’ve had Adelina and now has become one of our favourite places to relax and get away from it all. Both my husband and I are very busy with our work and also as parents to a toddler, our life is hectic to say the least. However I know how important it is to be able to spend time with each other, to reconnect and to remember why we fell in love in the first place! As a blogger, I am very lucky to be able to do what I do and I don’t take that for granted; And even though at times it can be tough, moments like these makes it all worth it where I can to spend time enjoying what I do and sharing that with the people I love most. So to start February, I got the chance to revisit River Rock Casino Resort and fall in love all over again this Valentine’s Day.
A Romantic Itinerary River Rock Style
As mentioned, this isn’t my first time staying here at River Rock Casino Resort, Western Canada’s only Four Diamond Casino Resort! Last time I was here it was during the Victoria Day long weekend, where I was invited by Vancouver Mom to experience a family style two-night staycation at their two bedroom executive suites which was amazing and we really enjoyed our experience. The resort was kind enough to let me bring along my husband, my baby and both my in-laws, so we can really enjoy time together as a whole family and explore Richmond and boy did we! This time around, I am also here because of my top mom win in 2019 for Vancouver Mom, so I am grateful for this community and exposing me to family-oriented events around the city. I couldn’t really find time last year to claim my prize until this February and I thought it would be a cute idea to also include a Valentine’s Day theme since I am here around that time. The lovely marketing team at the River Rock and Tourism Richmond is also always up for my ideas and thought it would be fun and also gave me a little upgrade to their Penthouse Suite! I couldn’t tell you how excited I was to come and experience the River Rock Casino Resort again in a different light.
A Luxurious Stay:The Penthouse Suite
Nothing brightens up my day more than seeing your fabulous hotel room for the first time- the gasp says it all! And that was the feeling I got when I first saw our penthouse suite on the 9th floor”OMG it’s so big and there are steps!”
I’ve been to a few penthouse suites for events in the past but sadly have never stayed in one and it was definitely a memorable experience and now I am too spoiled! Nestled on the 9th floor with a gorgeous view where you can see planes fly by, the River Rock Casino Resort is proud to offer 10 premium Penthouse Suites, available with one or two bedrooms. Each suite has been individually designed and varies in size and square footage from 1,000 to 1,200 square feet. One bedroom suites feature a bath and a half, while two bedrooms suites offer two and a half baths. With large spacious living areas, a dining room to seat six, and a bar in every suite, these penthouses are the perfect solution for those special occasions and are sure to impress to say the least. We were definitely spoiled with the amount of space we had and even contemplated to invite some of my husband’s friends over (there was a bar in house lol) and this room would definitely be fun for party! However, we decided that since we only had one night here we should really take advantage and just have a quiet night and enjoy the room without crying or having to change diapers you get the deal. It also helps that we had the comfiest bed with luxurious bedding and pillow cases adorned with the resort logo to make our sleep even better.

Valentine Dining At the River Rock
Any Valentine’s Day itinerary must include a romantic dinner and there is no better way to celebrate than at Tramonto, the fine dining restaurant here at the River Rock Casino Resort. From the moment you step inside until your very last bite, you’ll be well taken care of by the superior service and outstanding cuisine at Tramonto. Situated on the 3rd floor, Tramonto features a picturesque dining room overlooking the Fraser River and the River Rock Marina. It boasts gorgeous views for a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with good company. A perfect location for an intimate dinner like for Valentine’s Day, you will only have eyes for each other and the wonderful courses that come along. The service at the restaurant is just top notch and I felt catered too almost every single bite and the waiters and staff were just so attentive I couldn’t be happier. So we were very honoured to have gotten an exclusive first view of their Valentine’s Day set menu and it was beyond my expectation. I was actually quite nervous we wouldn’t be able to eat a lot because we just ordered their delicious room (try the Carbonara pizza so yum) service two hours ago, but to my surprise we ate everything it was that good!
The Menu: A 6-Course Meal for Two
At Tramonto, you are presented with classic flavours inspired by the West Coast so the dishes are fresh, locally sourced and also filled with creativity and innovation. For this romantic holiday, Tramonto is offering a six-course menu where two people can dine for just $129 plus taxes and it’s such a wonderful offer for the quality of food, ambiance and level of service. For starters you will get the same three courses each with fresh Kusshi Oysters, a crunchy green salad and seared Atlantic Scallops with Hog wild farms boar and porcini pate (amazing!) and then a choice between three dishes for main. My husband got the duck and it was cooked perfectly and I love that it was paired with a lovely beet sauce to balance out the richness of the duck and the skin was a little crispy! On Valentine’s Day, the fish option for main is a Chilean Sea Bass with lobster soup dumplings and flowering kale; but since we were there before, they didn’t have sea bass that day so instead I got a delightful sable fish but the sea bass sounds beyond amazing. Of course no night is complete without dessert and the chef actually had us taste a new creation and I hope that it will be on the menu in the spring time but won’t be on this one. To end the night we indulged in sorbet, macaroons and truffles over a glass of wine.
Alternatively, if you want to enjoy something more casual for a Valentine’s Day meal, I recommend the Curve Lounge at the River Rock Casino Resort where they are offering a Prime Rib Dinner for just $24.95 plus tax per person as another great dining option for the night.
Venture into the Moon & Back
Located conveniently in Richmond B.C and close to the airport, the River Rock Casino Resort is really a great spot to stay, eat and of course play! If you are looking for activities to do before dinner check out the casino for some fun games or grab a drink at the Curve Lounge. After dinner watch a show at their theatre or take a romantic sunset stroll along the marina and enjoy the sights of planes and the sounds of the river waves and reminisce about your lovely time so far. Then to end the night, take a dip in their amazing pool and hot tub to relax after a long day of activities. If you feel like venturing out the next day to explore, Richmond is a fantastic spot for dim sum, bike rides along Steveston Pier and some ig-worthy pictures at the Moon & Back Gallery plus many more great attractions
