Before we headed to dinner in downtown Osoyoos to our favourite Chinese restaurant- the Golden Chopstick, we chased down what was left of golden hour and did a quick photo shoot by Osoyoos Lake. Overlooking Nk'mip and the Spirit Ridge Resort in the North, the Watermark Beach Resort is a great alternative for larger groups or if you have kids. We stayed at their villa the last time we were here with our families and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is kid-friendly, offers a good gym and is located at the heart of downtown Osoyoos, which makes it super easy to hop into a pub or a casual restaurant if you are tired of fine dining in the area.
Other than the off-the-shoulder trend that I'm obsessing over at the moment- I'm also super into floral maxi dresses. The reason why I love a great floral dress for spring and now into summer is because they make the perfect wedding guest attire. Lets face it, most of us have a wedding or two to attend during the summer and what a better way to invite wedding season than with florals? It is an easy and charming style that is both timeless and feminine and not to mention always appropriate.
For today's look, we headed to west Kelowna to explore more wineries and to visit my favorite restaurant. Just an hour and half from Osoyoos, Kelowna offers you a variety of activities that suits all your needs. From relaxation to party, Kelowna should be your next destination for a family trip, stag party or just a romantic trip for two.
Another installment from my trip, this time we head to a unique desert environment where you can see gophers snakes, killdeer birds and the occasional cottontail rabbit if you are lucky. The Desert Centre is a 67 acre nature interpretive facility dedicated to preserving and protecting the fragile desert ecology in the South Okanagan. Guests are invited to explore Canada’s "pocket desert" by taking a tour along the wooden boardwalk. Located along Olivier, the centre is super convenient but hard to visit since they close early- so make sure to check the hours before you go!
So excited to share with you more pictures from my trip and this time we head to a resort area called Nk'mip (pronounced In-ka-meep). Translated to “Bottomland” in English, Nk'mip is located at the southern end of Osoyoos Lake and is home to the first Aboriginal-owned winery in North America (1), a 4-star Spirit Ridge hotel and a desert cultural centre. Surrounded by desert sage, rolling vineyards and a spectacular view of the lake (2), we took the opportunity to wine, dine and take pictures at this amazing place well worth a visit.
