Whitening my teeth at the dentist or via chemical has long been somewhat of a fear of mine due mainly to harmful side effects that I hear about. From damage to my enamel, increase sensitivity, irritation to my gums and development of a potential body dismorphic disorder, termed "bleachorexia"(1)- I have always wished that there was a more natural way to do so. My prayers were answered when I found out about a local company here in Vancouver called Kismet Essentials where they use coconut oil to organically whiten and brighten your smile. Super excited to try, I seek to test out their 14 day pulling kit and see if I can get the dream pearly whites that I was always destined to have.
I was contacted by Bel Mondo Beauty a little while ago to try out their Ultra Hydrating
Facial Sheet Masks and they were nice enough to send me a whole box so I can really test out the product. I am a big fan of "masking" because I think it is an important regimen to keep your skin looking healthy, glowing and youthful. Especially during the winter and now this transition to spring, your skin loses a lot of moisture and that is why masking is so needed. Since I'm all about hydration, I was excited to review and curious to see if my skin would react well and reap the benefits that would help rejuvenate my skin after a long winter.
If you like Korean dramas, music or food then you would be equally impress with their diligent skincare regiment. Koreans are known for their skin and what they excel most is in the area of hydration. If you see Hallyu stars or Korean celebrities, you will see that often their skin is very dewy and moisturized, almost "baby-like" which give them a healthy youthful glow. If you are looking to capture that soft and supple skin, I want to introduce to you a line called AMOREPACIFIC which I have been using since last winter as a solution to dry dehydrated skin.
In January, I did a review on the Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay eyeshadow palette and raved about the lipstick samples that came along with the palette. I was so impressed with their creamy, pigmented and velvety texture that I decided to get a few when the entire collection came out. With an array of reds, a neutral and a vibrant magenta purple to choose from, you have no excuse but to bring out your inner Gwen and rock her signature bold lip.
To update my make up game for the new year, I picked up this seriously gorgeous limited edition eyeshadow palette by Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay over the holidays. For those of you that only know Gwen Stefani as a judge on the Voice and her budding romance with Blake Shelton (1), the 46-year old and mother of three is much more than that. As a punk rock princess of the 90's, her music and fashion have influenced many including yours truly. For my entire holiday shoot at the Vancouver Art Gallery, I wore an elegant dark smokey eye which was created by using the shadows from this palette. Whether you want to be a "Harajuku girl" or "Rock Steady" to the beat, this palette offers a little Gwen for everybody.
