Welcome to my very first beauty post! I am thrilled to be able to share with you some of my favourite products, tips and tools. This also marks an exciting expansion in my blog and a step closer to making glamouraspirit.com into a great lifestyle and interactive site. It was always and still is a dream of mine to be able to share with all of YOU my passions and loves. So to begin, I wanted to review a makeup set from Lancôme that I got recently purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart called Top Picks.
Makeup for me is very much like fashion, where it is an extension of my expression. It allows me to be creative and express different sides of me with just a simple flick of eyeliner. To me fashion and makeup are synonymous; you can't have a great outfit without good makeup. With that said, what caught my eye with this particular set is the wonderful full size eye shadow palette, lipstick and lip gloss. I thought it would go wonderfully with my pink dress that I have worn in my previous post! What I also love about this set is the beautiful packaging and skincare sample that it came with. I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin, so before I purchase any new skincare routines I usually like to try out a sample first. These sizes are also great companions for traveling and keeping them as touch ups in your makeup bag.
To achieve this pretty in pink look, I first prepped my eyes with a base from Urban Decay and then dusted my lid with the pinky peach shade from the palette. To create a subtle crease, I added the taupe brown shade and gently swept it across. For added drama, I used fishnet eye shadow from Urban Decay and blended it upwards from my top eyelid towards the crease. For my lashes, I first coated them with the Cils Booster Xl mascara base from the kit (which is amazing) to plump them up and prep them for mascara. I really wanted to try the Hypnoses Star Volume mascara and I really loved it. It's not as volumizing as Dior Show but it still pretty good. Then to achieve my signature cat-eye I used Bobbi Browns Gel liner in black ink. To finish off the look, I used the pretty poch pink lip shade and Juicy Tube lip gloss in raspberry ice (so yummy) to really capture a little bit of spring in the fall.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope that you can try this lovely pink look during the coming months. Until next time stay glam and chic! Xoxo -Spirit
