It is no secret that I love my turmeric mask as it help me fight acne and gives me radiant and glowing skin. Always on a quest to find the greatest masks and scrubs, I recently discovered YLLO, a company that specializes in turmeric face scrubs. More than excited to share this beauty secret with you again, I actually heard about YLLO from Allure Magazine. From the moment I opened the minimalist and clean packaging, I understood immediately what all the fuss was all about. I am no stranger to the benefit of turmeric but what surprised me the most is its convenience! What I don't like about the DIY version is that some of the products (like yogurt and lemon juice) tend to spoil. But amazingly, all the antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial qualities we need and love are already included in this scrub. So what are you waiting for? Now is the time to reveal your skin’s natural beauty with this all natural, vegan and cruelty-free face scrub (1).
For those not genetically blessed with perfect skin like me, I put a lot of effort and research into skincare. And the reason why I keep endorsing this mask/scrub is because it truly saved and transformed my skin along with a good diet, cleansing and the right products. If you want the best skin ever, especially for those special occasions like your own wedding, I highly recommend you try the power of turmeric(2)and what it can offer. An ancient ingredient that is used as a spice in India for cooking, turmeric holds powerful medicinal treasures especially for the skin. Wash your face, remove all your makeup and mix a tablespoon of scrub with a teaspoon of water. Leave for 15-20 minutes and wash off with your favourite cleanser and/or cleansing brush and it will help balance the ph, exfoliate, nourish and brighten your skin while leaving it soft and supple for up to 2 days or more.
Warning the mask does stain so I find that the best way is to wash it off is with a dark towel or unused wash cloth in warm water first, then use a cleansing brush along with your favourite cleanser to get rid of the yellow residue. Do not wash your used towel with your whites or it will stain it. You can also use a makeup remover if needed. It will also stain your brush head so I suggest getting two brush heads -one for regular cleansing and one for this mask. Then after tone and moisturize as usual.
Another reason I want to endorse this scrub is that I want to help bring awareness to the problem of child marriage in developing countries, especially in parts of South East Asia where the problem is the most prevalent. I once saw a documentary on Youtube where girls as young as 12 are married off to men that are so much older and are not only abused but also abandoned. Ironically, turmeric is used on these child-brides all over the body before their marriage in India, so it is so fitting that YLLO donates 10% of its profit to girlsnotbrides.org, an amazing initiative that empower girls and help prevent future child marriages. So to help this epidemic that are plaguing young girls across the world, please #getyellow today!
I want to Thank YLLO for partnering up with me on this post!
