If you have been following me, you may have noticed that lately I have not been sporting any colour on my nails. Since the beginning of fall, I have decided to let my nails breathe because they have grown very weak due to frequent gel manicures. If your nails are like mine, I have discovered the Ciaté London Knight in Shining Armour Overnight Nail Mask and Marula Cuticle Oil to help you restore and rejuvenate your nails and cuticle this winter.
Way before I discovered the Ciate london x Olivia Palermo collaboration, I stumbled into my local Sephora to desperately find anything to repair and rescue my brittle, peeling and thinned-out nails. As I was ironically trying out a few polish colours from Ciaté, I saw their Overnight Nail Mask. Just like masks for the face, this treatment serves the same purpose . A unique pink formula that goes on like a clear nail polish, this mask does does not require any remover. Dries within minutes, this self-proclaimed "mani-saviour" washes off easily with warm water and a gentle scrub. Super simple and fast, you leave it overnight (hence the name) to achieve the best results. However, even with the slightest touch of water it would wash off, so only apply it at night before you go to sleep to ensure that your nails are receiving the full treatment.
Not only were my nails damaged but my cuticles were also very dry from visiting the nail salon too much. This lead me to noticed their Marula Cuticle Oil which claims to help "transform weak, breaking nails and cuticles into healthy-looking hands". I was instantly attracted to the lovely scent and the posy of tiny blue flowers floating delicately inside. I think with the scent and beautiful packaging alone I would have easily gotten it; however, it was the formula that really sold me. Unlike the traditional cuticle oil which leaves your hands super oily for a long time, this formula is subtle and dries quickly. Improving your cuticles in a few applications, this treatment oil is ideal for those on-the-go moments. For the ultimate nail rescue (especially after manicures), combine the nail mask and oil along with a good hand cream for optimal results.
Note: The Marula oil also comes in a set called the Runway Revamp that includes a toner and illuminator. I suggest skipping the set and just getting the oil on its own because the other two are just your regular toner and top/base coat.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you are on your way to revitalizing, restoring or just maintaining the general health of your nails and cuticle.
