Alas, it has come to my very last outfit post of the year and signals the end of my holiday fashion edit. To commemorate such a milestone occasion, I decided to pull out all the stops and hold back nothing with seductive red. Red is a colour that evokes many emotions, such as anger, passion and mystery and has proven to attract attention even on the smallest scale (1). With the help of such a eye-grabbing shade, I went the extra mile with my accessories to demonstrate a look perfect for an extravagant masquerade ball. If you are lucky enough to attend one this New Years Eve, make sure you employ this fiery hue and end the year in sartorial splendor.
As 2015 comes to a close, we sit back and reflect upon the year and see how far we have come. It also signals the hunt for the perfect countdown attire when the clock strikes twelve. The last week of December marks a busy time for me because I feel that my festivities really begins now. With friends coming from afar to visit or returning home for the holidays, the parties are endless and I love it. To celebrate the year end, we visited the Vancouver Art Gallery for a holiday photo shoot series where I got to admire the works of Korean artist Lee Bul and also the grand architectural design of the gallery itself. With such a visionary and grandiose surrounding, I was inspired fully to end the year with bang!
Since today is Christmas, I want to share with you a special festive look perfect for this occasion. Christmas is usually a time spent with close family or friends with ample food, great drinks and tons of laughter around the tree. That means you want to wear something comfortable which allows you to eat but also stay relevant to the theme of holiday dressing. With that said, a glittery metallic knit with tons of statement and sparkle is the most appropriate to make this Christmas the most memorable, merry and bright.
Holiday dressing is usually dominated by lots of shimmer, sequins and sparkle; this year however, we see the emergence of another standout trend- Velvet! (1) As fashion's love affair with the 1970's continues, so does luscious fabrics associated with the decade (2). In collaboration with Foxy Originals, I wanted to create a charming yet seductive evening look with their unique and fun designs. A Canadian based jewelry company where each piece is created in their Toronto studio, I thought their Skye necklace and Darwin earrings would be the perfect fit to illustrate the elegant and regal nature of this fabric-of-the-moment! So this party season, don't fall into the same old routine and embrace velvet's opulent but understated versatility for an unforgettable and Foxy night.
If you are someone like me that like to (but don't mean to) leave your Christmas shopping till the very possible last moment then this is the gift guide for you! With many years of last minute shopping experience, I want to curate some coveted last minute gifts that are fitting for everyone on your list. Whether it is your best friend, co-workers, mailman, neighbor etc... I got an easy fix to what I called the Last Minute Shopper Anxiety . So don't wake up in the middle of the night panicking and sweating, get some rest and find yourself a parking spot at the mall and your battle is already half over.
