Every October, I look forward to visiting many of the amazing pumpkin patches and corn mazes we have here around the city. Something about the smell of hay, the sound of cute farm animals and adorable children running around that excites me. I think it is because it makes me feel like a kid again and signals that Halloween is one step closer. So inspired by the colourful scenery and the vivid orange of the festive pumpkins, I decided to rework this bejeweled vest and restyled it for a causal and fun date revisiting my childhood memory.
Amid a sea of rich earthy browns and deep tones, pink emerged as a refreshing and unusual new "it" colour. Since spring is so seemingly far away and out of reach, style aficionados alike are craving this "oh-so-pretty" shade (1). From trousers, a midi skirt to long coats, pink is everywhere. When paired well it will surely help any outfit standout and bloom. So I challenge you, don't be afraid to wear pink this season and to create a little spring in fall.
I am not sure how denim went from "cult' status to being an integral part of our everyday wardrobe and lives. Perhaps it is the durability of the material or the flattering nature of the cut? Whatever the reason, what I love about denim is that it can be worn all seasons, dressed up or down and can take on a variety of shapes and forms to suit our daily needs. So to show my appreciation, I am reworking this long denim skirt and vertical stripe top to create a look perfect for the changing temperature and with a twist of 70's redux of course!
