Anyone that knows me well, knows that I love having colour on my nails. And since I have been obsessing over Olivia Palermo's collection with Baublebar lately, I thought it was only fitting to review and introduce her other collaboration with Ciaté London. Aptly name The Fashion Edit, Olivia as creative director handpicked each shade to mirror the four big Fashion Week destinations. Whether you are heading to New York, Milan, Paris or London this set will surely help you achieve a perfect front row look.
Sometimes when you feel as if you have nothing to wear but don’t want to spend more on another outfit, the best fix is to go into your closet and reexamine what you have. I think sometimes people stress over buying a new outfit for every occasion; however that is not always necessary or practical. Reinventing your closet with pieces you already have can be a breeze if you pair it with the right accessories. So this holiday season, ease your styling dilemma with a creative spin by looking again at what is already right in front of you.
Suede continues to be a big trend this fall and something about it always really screams retro sophistication to me. Especially in a trench form, the coat reminded me of a picture of Ali McGraw in the Getaway It was really through the revival of throwback fashion that introduced this great actress and fashion icon to me. Her impeccable taste really defines her as one of the decade’s greatest trendsetting cinema stars, along with Audrey Hepburn, Francoise Hardy and Faye Dunaway (1). In attempt to capture her style with a contemporary twist, I wanted to use my Olivia Palermo x Baublebar pieces to add some eccentricity to McGraw’s otherwise natural and minimalist style (2).
Last week I incorporated a Beauty segment on my site and today I wanted to share with you yet another exciting feature. Olivia Palermo has long been my fashion idol ever since she appeared on The City. Her style is very uptown New York but her technique of mixing high street with runway and accessories really speaks to me. As I am also all about accessories, I was super thrilled to find out that she has collaborated with Baublebar, a jewelry site which I am also a huge fan of. As a guest bartender, Olivia’s collection consists of 25 pieces which features jewelry with a high-end antique feel but with affordable and accessible prices. Throughout the months I will be wearing a lot of pieces from her collection and other Baublebar items I purchased. I will be showing my take on how to wear them and hopefully try to capture the spirit of the New York 'it' girl.
Welcome to my very first beauty post! I am thrilled to be able to share with you some of my favourite products, tips and tools. This also marks an exciting expansion in my blog and a step closer to making glamouraspirit.com into a great lifestyle and interactive site. It was always and still is a dream of mine to be able to share with all of YOU my passions and loves. So to begin, I wanted to review a makeup set from Lancôme that I got recently purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart called Top Picks.
