Recently a friend of mine went on a first date to an ice cream shop and I thought it was such a great idea. To anyone, first dates and or blind dates can be pretty awkward, intimidating and uncomfortable simply because you are just meeting for the first time. But I thought an ice cream and doughnut date would be perfect to keep the atmosphere carefree and no-pressure. This way you can focus on just being relaxed and yourself and enjoying each others company. Whether it works out or not doesn't really matter because being open to meeting new people and trying new things is a part of growth and life.
September is officially upon us now and the leaves are turning a beautiful copper and gold. Where has the year gone? It was just barely two months ago I started this journey and summer was in full throttle. However the beginning of Fall marks an exciting time in fashion for me-the coats! I adore coats and jackets of all sorts because it is both useful and chic. A great coat really is the ultimate accessory and statement for Fall and Winter.
In any season, there are usually a predominant trend and other smaller sub-trends that emerges from the runway. One such trend is the Goth Glam style seen in Riccardo Tisci Victorian Chola gang inspired style at Givenchy (1). Today I wanted to combine two trends together to demonstrate a more classy and glamouraize version of the "goth chick". Now I would never say I am a "bad girl" or "goth" in any way, but once and awhile I think it's OK to step out of your comfort zone and embrace your inner dark side (2).
If you have ever visited Vancouver, Canada you will know that our city rains pretty much all year around, except this summer which was crazy dry. But I think the rain is what makes the city beautiful and the trees lush and green. However, like any Vancouverite, I struggle to keep dry without sacrificing style. Having to find what to wear on a rainy day can be tough but not impossible. Dressing well requires advance planning (1) and a sturdy black umbrella.
