Another installment from my trip, this time we head to a unique desert environment where you can see gophers snakes, killdeer birds and the occasional cottontail rabbit if you are lucky. The Desert Centre is a 67 acre nature interpretive facility dedicated to preserving and protecting the fragile desert ecology in the South Okanagan. Guests are invited to explore Canada’s "pocket desert" by taking a tour along the wooden boardwalk. Located along Olivier, the centre is super convenient but hard to visit since they close early- so make sure to check the hours before you go!
So excited to share with you more pictures from my trip and this time we head to a resort area called Nk'mip (pronounced In-ka-meep). Translated to “Bottomland” in English, Nk'mip is located at the southern end of Osoyoos Lake and is home to the first Aboriginal-owned winery in North America (1), a 4-star Spirit Ridge hotel and a desert cultural centre. Surrounded by desert sage, rolling vineyards and a spectacular view of the lake (2), we took the opportunity to wine, dine and take pictures at this amazing place well worth a visit.
Nothing says summer quite like floral's and this season they are scattered in the fashion landscape once again (1). To demonstrate this sought after trend, we traveled far and wide to this secluded road called Black Sage. Connecting some of my favourite wineries in Osoyoos such as Burrowing Owl, Black Hills and Desert Hills, I thought this place would be perfect to photograph this pretty pink floral dress.
Starting this week, I am excited to share with you my outfits and travel pictures from my recent trip to Osoyoos (Pronounced: "O-sue-use"). A charming small town located in the Okanagan valley of B.C, Osoyoos is home to the only desert and warmest fresh water lake in Canada (1). Similar to California's Napa Valley and the Bordeaux region of France, it boasts impressive vineyards, picturesque landscapes and lots of sunshine. More than just blue skies and wineries set against gentle sloping hills (2), this is a place I love to get away, relax and visit during the summer months. With a beautiful backdrop, a mecca for wine lovers (3) and ample sun- you will need to see for yourself why its aptly named "Canada's desert wine country".
Going to the airport is a super exciting time because you are one step closer to your dream destination. However, I often find that people compromise their style for comfort and regret it later when they run into someone they might know. Today, I want to share with you an outfit that is super chic but allows you to be comfortable so no matter who you run into, you are prepared and ready for the long journey ahead.
