March has been a month of being sick, wisdom teeth extraction, events and celebrations which certainly kept me very busy. It was also the month where cherry blossoms were in full bloom and I want to share with you yet another outfit underneath this canopy of delicate pink perfection. As I flip through magazines for my daily outfit inspiration, I was excited to see the return of the colour RUST. Seemingly difficult to wear at first, Rust brings a certain charm that will inevitably become one of your favourite ways to revamp your wardrobe with for spring 2016.
Today I want to share with you a cute and festive outfit that I wore over the long weekend to celebrate Easter. Whether you are painting eggs, chasing bunnies or simply just relaxing over the holiday at the beach, this palette of blue will certainly get you into the right egg hunting mood.
I was contacted by Bel Mondo Beauty a little while ago to try out their Ultra Hydrating
Facial Sheet Masks and they were nice enough to send me a whole box so I can really test out the product. I am a big fan of "masking" because I think it is an important regimen to keep your skin looking healthy, glowing and youthful. Especially during the winter and now this transition to spring, your skin loses a lot of moisture and that is why masking is so needed. Since I'm all about hydration, I was excited to review and curious to see if my skin would react well and reap the benefits that would help rejuvenate my skin after a long winter.
Last week, I was invited to attend Vancouver Fashion Week to check out some local and emerging designers at our hip Chinatown. Filled with so much history, culture and just aesthetically beautiful, this part of town has gone through quite the restructuring from when I was a kid. Now it is filled with hipster bars, restaurants, clubs, record stores and has become one of my favourite spots to take pictures for the blog. Since it was fashion week and we are in such a nostalgic location, I wanted to go for something that was unique, fun and super trendy. With spring coming up real soon, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you a few must have pieces for the upcoming season.
Every year, I anticipate the flowering of sakura or Cherry Blossoms as it signals the arrival of spring with its exquisite cluster of pink and presence around the city. In Japan, the transience of the blossoms symbolizes that life is both beautiful and fragile at the same time (1). I can't help but feel sadness knowing that this beauty will soon disappear and reminds us vividly how precious and precarious life can be (2). As I grew one year older last week, I realized that life is about living each day to our happiest and fullest and surrounding ourselves with the right people that care, love and appreciate you. In marveling at the stunning beauty of this Japanese flower. I hope that I will grow wiser, stronger and better with time like the graceful and elegant ume tree.
